Thanks Dan. Your right of course, unfortunately at the moment I don't have anything more suitable taken with my 35mm. Guess I need to shoot with it more :-)

haha yeah it's definitely a reason to use it more! I'm always switching between this and my 100L.

As much as I love everything about this lens I still find myself using my 24-70 more. I suppose during the day I fond it more versatile, I like the extra range it give.

Ok, another shot at the film look. This time a scene.

Great shot, definitely nailed it! Yeah I guess it also depends on if you like the longer more tele look over the wide look. I was more of a zoom person but I love primes and the 35mm FL is now my favourite!

Thanks. I've never really been a wide lover, but since getting my 5D I can appreciate it more. Im quite shy so I think that's why I prefer zooms more, but my 35mm is my fav and most fun lens.
It's a lens I don't have to worry about when I use it. I have 100% confidence in it every time. If something goes wrong with the shot I know it's only down to me. I don't feel the lens has any issues that causes me to shoot in a certain way due to weaknesses etc.

The 35mm f/2 IS is the new 50mm f/1.4. Everyone should have one lol.

I started off as liking wide when I got my 17-40, over time I've started to like a more standard FL better such as 50mm but since getting the 35 I find it a real great balance.

Except the 35 is sharp wide open and the AF doesn't die after a while :P

Yeah, my 35mm (all 3 copies I've had) have been sharper at f/2 than my 50mm f/1.4 at f/2 ever was.

I think the demand for a updated 50 similar to this lens is quite large, even I would consider getting it if they made one!

Yes, same here, and going by the rumours I don't think we will have too long to wait.
