What's up guys and gals?

I have a credit account with Dell.com.

On Friday 1/4/13, I called up to see if Dell would price match 5D3's at other websites. They came close and so I decided to order the 5D3 Kit with EF 24-105mm f/4L IS. Place my order over the phone.

Box arrives yesterday, Tuesday 1/8/13, and I am SUPER excited. So excited that I'm jumping around, smiling like a fool and just going nuts. It's the most excited I've been in a long time. I've been shooting with my 30D for 6 years and I've been waiting for a while to upgrade. I take the box, run up to my room and commence the unpackaging ritual.

I start opening the box and document every step of the way. Extreme high, to bitter sad low. :o :cry: :cry: :cry:

I leave you with the photos from my iPhone 5.

UPDATE 1/23/2013
After my story was picked up by FStop Lounge and FStoppers, it spread a decent amount across the net. Fstoppers also posted this up on their twitter account. When I saw that, I tweeted Dell's 3 accounts and got responses and was assigned someone from corporate to work with that would take care of the situation.

Dell was able to take some $$$ off the price of the camera for me, and they are now working on getting me a coupon towards a future purchase. It's been a hectic ride, and to be honest, although Dell did do a little for me, I don't feel it was completely enough. I'm not being greedy. I'm being real.

I received my 5D3 kit yesterday, and all is well.

I'm happy with the camera and I hope no one ever has to go through the sh!t that I experienced.

:oops::(:o:cry::cry::cry::cry:

Did this really just happen? UGH!!! So pissed. So upset. So blah. So down at this point!

I'm dealing with Dell as we speak. I'm asking very very very strongly (demanding) a replacement kit shipped out today via next day air. Crossing my fingers.

I'll keep you updated!

-Jalal

You have got to be joking!! Aaarrrgghhhh I would have been devastated!! Somebody obviously lifted it and replaced it with stuff to give it weight. I really hope you get this sorted out ASAP and they do not try to get out of it by saying you did it. Good luck!

You sure a family member didn't get to it first, maybe to wrap it up again and surprise you with it as a late christmas present?! lol. If not, thats awful. I can't imagine someone could go through the trouble of stealing it and filling the box with tile to give it weight so no one would notice..must have been someone who worked for Dell then no? Or someone at the post office :S Both seem unlikely. Keep us updated!

I would be beyond pissed! They at least owe it to you to ship a replacement out to you overnight for their error. I have to say though, I purchased my 5DII from them brand new, among other photography stuff and I have never had a trouble with my orders. I hope they make it right for you!
