Professor Plum, in the conservatory, with the candlestick.

I had a similar thing happen to me a while back for a 580 EX. I opened up the box an there was a stack of paper instead. It looked like mine might have been lifted from the store just before shipping from Frys. ..

I find it very curious you felt the need to privately document your "unboxing."

Check out my feedback here.

Why? Lots of people do that. Haven't you seen all those unboxing videos on Youtube?

It looks like an inside job. Someone at the factory or shipping place took the 5D out of the box & replace it with same weight flooring, and put it back on the shelf. Then the order came in, an order puller pulled it from shelf and shipped it. I doubt they open every box to make sure the items are really inside.
Your just the unlucky recipient.

Yeah, I've seen plenty of unboxing videos. Those are filmed for an audience. Do you photograph yourself, privately, opening your stuff? Just a bit funny. Not accusing anyone of anything.

Believe it or not this happens all the time. I have stories on my website from members who have ordered equipment from amazon and it's filled with rocks and othet crazy stuff. One guy ordered a receiver with rocks in the box, returned it for another one and same thing thung happened. I believe it turned out to be a delivery guy. Last year my buddy ordered a 70-200 2.8 IS II from amazon and shipped it to our work. When he opened it, it was an old beat up Ver. I lens. and when I say old I mean it look as if a truck hit it.

Wow, I feel awfully bad for ya! Can't imagine if that was me! Glad it's taken care of, though!

Also, I dont understand why YOU are so upset. Imagine the people who pieces missing out of their floor!! Those are the real victims.

Well, It sounds like something I'd do if I was really excited. One of the first things I did with my iPhone 5 was photograph it, although, I did it with it out of the box. I take pictures of a lot of things just for the fun of it with my iPhone.

And if they do it again, see if they will at least pack it with wall material for your studio! You have the floor now!

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

I think you need to change your thread title. I'm pretty sure some of that is real hardwood. :)
