Very cold evening today at around -40, but it made for some beautifully warm light around sunset

If we didn't go out around here when it was cold, we would never get any photos! Haha but no, I was only out for about a half an hour

Nice shots, I really like the light you captured and the compositions.

Thanks a lot! In the winter we only get about 5-6 hours of daylight, so the sun stays quite close to the horizon and bathes everything in this golden light. It's very pretty.

How long does your battery last in that temp?

Beautiful shot!

I haven't run into an issue in these temps yet. Battery life is good, I always have two extras next to my person in case they do die, but I don't usually stay out in those temps long enough to drain that many batteries. At that temp though, the LCD screen really slows down, and eventually will basically not display anything at all.

Nice images - I always mean to take my camera when I go up to Yellow Knife but I am usually only up there for a day traveling on business. I imagine you get some great northern light opportunities.
