I had read in the Orange County Register that there was a flock(s) of wild Parrots in Orange County Ca. I had never seen them up close until, on my Christmas vist to CA this year, they did a fast fly by through my mother-in-law's the backyard. I quickly grabbed my camera and snapped a few pics. It all happened so fast that I couldn't get as good a shot as I would have liked. For better or worse, here they are:

I just love those photos - especially the last one. Thanks for posting them! Have you seen the documentary "The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill?" Here's a link to Amazon where you can stream it. Amazing story of the birds and their "guardian angel."

Thanks, watched the trailer, good like an excellent film. I'll add it to my Netflix cue.

There are a few neighborhoods here in OC where they are a real nuisance, comparable to crows. Extremely noisy! Still, I always get excited when a flock visits my area...and then leaves again.

The last shot in particular is really nice, they are watching you :)

There is a flock in WLA too. Loud screechers they are.

Nice pics. Those parrots are all over So Cal. There are dozens of them in my area near the foothills.

There are quite a few in orange hills area. The neighbors blame them on Dennis rodman who lived there for a while and set them free when he moved to Newport beach
