Old house from the early 1700's in Union Maine, converted to a shed years ago...Up in the highlands and tucked out of the wind ...

Lasted very well given its age. Would make a nice seasonal shot for a greetings card.

Nice shot, glad to see it was well cared for, it sure has a lot of old New England character. :)

Actually Stoney, I have waited a while to take a shot of this old place. It had a lipped galvanized roof added around the 30's when it was popular or a very good salesman made a swarth of these roofs up thru the center of the state, and I wanted it covered with snow for a photo...you can see the lips (raised overlaps) under the snow. The house is surrounded with blueberry fields and the accompanying stone walls.........

A beautiful winter scene. I bet the blueberries are delicious in their season.

They are great blueberrys here...It use to be farmers, high school kids and folks looking for extra cash doing the raking of the blueberries, now it's the only chance I get to practice my spanish...all migrant workers that do the harvesting..wonderful hard working families show up and work their butts off for 2-3 weeks..then gone...Farming here isn't what it use to be. The berry land is mostly owned by big co-ops...and now it's getting broken up for house lots...I have a shot I'll include here of some of the rough terraine that is farmed for the berries...It's a funny business, no machinery to harvest or sort the chaff and immature barries from the good berries...all hand work!
