Wish I was fishing. Only water around here comes out of the faucet. Looks like you "landed" a nice image. Would be interesting if you had another image that brightens up the sunset but puts the angler in a silhouette.

The magic with Meerkat's shot is that it reveals itself only after a couple of viewings.
I can shoot an angler against sunset but I cannot get these subtle tones that signal the silence of the early morning by the water.

Extremely impressive image David.
Two things stand out;
1. The sun and it's reflection on Derwent Reservoir.
2. Your timing. The curve of the rod is a perfect extension of the mans arm and body.

Composition goes without saying.

One question. Was this shot last summer or are Northumberland man quite hardy ? :) ( short sleeves ) :)

Beautiful image. Congrats.
