stark scenes are about all we have this time of the year here...gotta make the best of them...A little more contrast ? I'd love somebody to try on this photo...I'mnot sure where the cntrast would be...whiter snow or darker tree...I'm not much of a B&W guy...

Thanks all!

the first one is fine Peachman
it's just that you asked for CC and I thought the white was a little bit too white

now the first looks better then the last ( somehow the first looks different to the first time I saw it)
::

using levels and brightness/contrast brings about a subtle difference which may make all the difference to a shot like it
but only if you like the final results yourself

Thanks Marie...I just am not a good judge of B&W....Don't know what it is that I'm really looking for...never seems right the way I do it and I don't know what it is that I'm missing....As always I very much like to hear what you say and reccommend! Even more, I'd like to see what you would do !! My attempts always look a tad "cheezy"........

you say you are not a good judge of bl/wh Peachman and I am not really sure what a good judge would be ...as we are all so different in our views, maybe it's best you keep trying for what you may like as you won't know unless you keep at it
and then someone else may not like it
so who is it we want to suit, ourselves or others?

if someone else does it it's a version of what they like and can do with your picture

giving advice is one thing as it's just that , one person's advice,
they have maybe done something you like and it's for you to try out what is suggested,
but just suggested
never to take away from what your own vision is for the picture
sometimes too much advice can cause confusion and take away the passion you yourself must have for what you want from a picture

thanks Peachman
