I am looking for recommendations for print labs specifically for black and white prints. I own a Canon Pro9000 and am very happy with my color print setup. Color prints come out just as I want them after tweeking profiles and whatnot.

However the Pro9000 is less than stellar at B&W printing as it only has a single black cartridge. For some basic 4x6 stuff it is ok, but I have some images I would like printed true B&W at a much larger scale. 13x19 and larger. I have tried and tried with the Pro9000 to get them just right, but after much experimentation and reading etc I have come to the conclusion that the Pro9000 just wont cut it for high quality B&W.

So I am in search for the best lab for black and white printing. I know there are good places like Millers and MpixPro, and those may be the best option, but I am looking for people with specific experience with B&W printing from these and other labs.

I know there are places like Dalmatian who are absolutely incredible, but I do not want to pay $150 for a 20x24. At least not for this project.

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I printed few B&W in local Costco in 8x10 size, they came out flawless. You can give a try . For $2.99 for 12x18 you won't loose too much.
