Canon 7D custom setting the ISO button??

HI all. I have a quick question. I was wondering if there was a way one could move ( custom control settings ) the ISO button either to the set button or one of the other buttons on the back of the camera. When looking through the viewfinder and a bird flies over head I sometimes struggle to locate the ISO button without lifting my head ( fiddling my fingers and I eventually find it second or third try but by that time ...). Ive looked everywhere and can't seem to find an options so maybe it isn't possible. Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is a single-button short cut that can be programmed to access the ISO directly. Strange because you can program a button on the Powershots to do this (I have mine set to access the White Balance Menu).

Anyway, what I do is use the Q (quick) button and make sure the last setting was on the ISO selection. With this setup, I just press Q, then Set (since ISO should already be highlighted), then turn the control wheel with my thumb to the ISO I want then press Set again. The whole process takes no more than 3 seconds once you get good at it.

No, there isn't a single button to map to that. What is it you're trying to do that quickly with your ISO, though. I'm a bit unclear as to what you're trying to overcome. This might be a scenario that Auto ISO or some other setting might help with, but I'd love some clarification first.

You also might be able to program one of the customizable user settings (C1, C2, C3) on the exposure mode dial, to be able to quickly switch to what you need. With some practice, you could probably change that dial without taking your eye from the viewfinder.

The 5D3 allows you to map this to the SET button, but the 7D does not.
