I had a production company in the 80's and doing weddings was the bread and butter that keep us going. I have a Canon 7D and access to Sony HD cameras. I just retired and have been doing band promo videos, parties and corporate videos. I want to start doing weddings again. Can I pick your brain on what the prices go for covering a full wedding day? An example would be the day of ... capturing the wedding party getting ready, 2 cameras and GoPro mount during the wedding, reception, and interview guest best wishes to the bride and groom. Any advice would be appreciated. I live in San Rafael in the bay area. Peace Michael J

The no. 1 difficulty I find with shooting video is making sure I get the audio right.
To do so I bring in a couple of professional PA guys whose only role is to record the sound.
That increases costs significantly for the couple but means I can concentrate upon what I do best with my camera gear.
If you are doing it alone and have some experience I'd say between AU$800-$1200 is an appropriate price range considering the editing you'll have to do afterwards.

^ $800-1200 for the whole day for wedding video?.. damn thats cheap.. here in Australia video guys that know what they're doing / provide cinematic package charge from anything like $3-4K upwards.. a really good cinematographer i know charges $6.9K per wedding.
