The tutorial is here : http://digitol.free.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=136 (external link)

I propose to create and maintain a thread that will contain for each non-compatible lens, the best compatible lens to use. So if you find a good compatible lense that can be used for a given non-compatible lens, please post the information in the table thread so as I will add it to the table.
Thanks.

My version of ExifToolGui (3.38) doesn't have the Direct button, but I discovered something better and easier. Select Modify in the menu bar and then Canon Maker Notes. In the submenu you have two choices; the first, Lens Type (For DPP) opens a window with a list of Canon lenses. Pick the one you want and click Save. At the bottom of the window it says it is for the 20D and 350D only, but it worked fine for my 5D2. The second choice, Lens Model, opens a text bar where you have to type in the name of the lens and is supposed to be for later camera models.

As you can see in the screen capture, I changed my Tamron 24-70 to Canon EF 24-70. DPP accepts it and applies DLO.

Thanks Elie. It seems indeed easier with your version of exiftoolgui. It's strange that they removed this possibility in the recent version...
DO you have a link to download this older version ?
