Great catches of this elusive bird so it seems. I have only seen one out in the open .

Nice job, Don. You weren't at Ding Darling on Sanibel Island yesterday, were you? I ask because there was one of these guys posing for everyone. He wasn't the least bit shy. Just stood there and watched all the people and let us snap away! Haven't had a chance to work on my shots yet.

Nice detail Don. The YCNHs I've shot have bright red eyes, adults I think. Is this a juvenile getting closer to adulthood? I gotta look this up.

I don't know for sure Chris but I have seen what seemed like the same pair in that location for several years.
