would somone please direct me to the page in the manual where when you get ready to take a picture.ll it will say in RED a minus 2 or another number .. is the exposure? what needs to be adjusted?

I seem to still be having trouble with the raw images... its very pale and even when i tryed to edit one it wasnt very good.. so i am sure the settings werent right. I dont remember having this problem with the SD40HD.... i am sure i am the problem..:)

thanks.

Sounds like you have it in M for manual, on my S100 the red -1 can be changed using the aperture or shutter speed dial or changing ISO, try P for program until you find how to correct it on the SX50.

Full manual control on a small sensor camera like ours can't change the final image to much except allow you to add motion blur. Depth of field background blur obtained in DSLR's with large apertures can't be achieved with a small sensor camera except in macro short.

Your RAW problems may also be from manual mode.
