Ok this is my first post of a pic here so don't be mean lol. I know this is crappy composition.

I am still learning the basics and did this pic for a singular themed aperture from understanding exposure.

I did this adjustment in curves according to a Mr. Scott Kelby so I would like your cc on that please. It's my first time using curves.:) :)

Great job.
I assume you scrapbook, too. Me too, every week I scrap with a friend.
Pretty soon I will have to build a new room to hold all my books.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

Good work. The WB looks pretty good to me on my monitor.

you did a good job of removing some of that color cast. Do you mind if I post an edit that I think helps even a little more?

First, a crop and then the elimination of the background. This was done by selecting the background with the poly lasso tool, feathering that selection and painting it white. I've attached a screenshot of the rest of the changes. You can see the levels adjustments made.

The first hue/saturation layer was a reduction of saturation and increase in the lightness on the yellow channel. It took care of the rest of that tungsten cast.

The localized curves adjustment on the eyes was too lighten them up. Select the eyes with whatever tool is easiest (I used the eliptical marquee). Feather rather heavily to blend in the coming adjustment. Add a curves layer and it will be masked already. I adjusted the curve to a slight "s" shape to brighten and increase contrast in the eye area.

The second hue/sat layer was a reduction in the saturation in the red channel because the previous adjustments made it look like he had on lipstick.

Saved for web and applied an Unsharp Mask. Radius .3, amount 190%, threshold 0.

I'm assuming the lower image(in the original post) is the original and I think you've done a fine job with your curves. You've mangaged to even out the tones and get rid of what looked like a warmish color cast. Your image could use some additional sharpening though.

Smart move listening to Scott Kelby. He is a Photoshop guru... I place him right up there with Bert Monroy when it comes to Photoshop. Two very different and unique styles but masters in their craft.
