These are a few pics i took today with my Friend.. It was really cold and overcast..

Please give C&C to help me improve.. I like them, but i feel that there is something missing from them... maybe the ambient light? i dunno... I also used a 580EX for fill, off camera held in my left hand..

I only have Lightroom 4 so bear that in mind.. Bless her, she was freezing!

Thanks in advance :)

Lighting is a little harsh in 2 and 3. I assume you weren't using any kind of light modifier? Also, flash is pretty cold in 3 ... could have used a little CTO to warm it up.

I have revisited and re edited them + another one... Thanks for your input..

a little better but some still have that "flashed" look. maybe a modifier on the flash would have helped or better balancing of ambient and flash output

#4 in your second post has a green tint to it. But yeah, images are difficult to really improve as the flash is pretty harsh.

I like the top one. The others are too harsh.
