I have a VERY lightly used 1D Mark IV that I'm going to offer for sale and wondering what is a fair asking price. I have only 2700 shots on it. I have every that came with it as new. I've seen them going here, on FM, and on eBay for anything from $2800 for high milage versions with over 100k clicks and as high as $3500 and almost new for $3900.

What would you consider a fair resale value? If you feel more comfortable PM me with your opinion that would be great. Or leave your opinion here.

I have seen a 1D4 with under 6K clicks for US$3200 locally. Guess it all depends on what the market will bear. Now if I could only convince the wife that it is a great deal! :-)

Equipment list - According to the wife - "how many more lenses do you need? Yet another camera?" ???

I bought one in August, 9,500 shots on it, everything included, minor scratch above the word Canon on top... for $3,250 shipped. FYI.

3200 I think is about average. However if a 10fps rumored 7d II is released then resale value may drop substantially.

I'm seeing more and more of them for just under $3000. I desperately need one myself, and am waiting until I can get one for under $2500 . . . I figure I'll have to wait about another 6 to 10 months for that to happen. Just giving you one prospective buyer's perspective.

Good luck on your sale.

I sold mine in excellent condition for $3500 (need to update my signature) from ebay, but after ebay and paypal fee (ridiculous fee), I made exactly $3000. Good Luck!

I am thinking of trading my mint 5D III for the 1D IV since I started to like wild life photography now. I know the 5D III can do the job but for some reason I like the feel of 1D IV when holding it.

i think that $3000-3100 is a fair price for a great condition one. the last one i got was for $2400 but that was a fluke and i got lucky. most of the ones i see now are in the $3000 area. if you do plan on selling, i would do it now though, the value will continue to drop and its only a matter of time before it dips lower.

well except for the desperate need part, same here. I'm in a waiting game between the 1dmk4 and 5dMK3 as far as price dropping goes
