I like the idea and most of the execution, but it's just missing something. I think perhaps a point of interest in either the reflection or outside (I don't think both, but it could work).

The color and contrast are nice but people's eyes follow lines and three lines (the railing, the roof, and the reflection of the roof) all lead you to stare straight at the middle of the picture at the piece of wood that is the window trimming and for me it was only after I realized I kept being drawn back to it did I look at the rest of the image.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea and it looks nice, but it keeps drawing my eye to that point.

Thks reed052 for the comment. I agree the wood stop the flow of lines. I'll try darken that piece of wood so reduce its attention if at all.

I'd agree it needs a point of interest. I think a person sitting on the railing looking outward would have been nice. Also you might clone out that playground toy to the left just to keep the distractions to a minimum.

If you crop it at the window so you lose the reflection, it works better for me. If you had more vista in the lhs I think its a lovely shot, a reminder of where you were.

You followed the rule of thirds vertically by placing the window reflection in the far right third, however the horizon splits the pic.

In my mind it would have been better to have the horizon lower or higher.

Reed052 hit the nail on the head. The lines draw you straight to that wooden beam and forces your eyes to start looking for something of interest... but they dont find it :)

Pretty pic though.

thanks guys for the comment on the leading lines and the wood piece.

it was quite challenging to compose! Even if i had the magic to go back in time, I don't think I could have find a better composition. I have tried shooting up and down, left and right. I cant make the wood piece disappear. I think the idea to include reflection just doesn't work for this scene.

I have darken the wood so as to reduce attention IF at all!
I know the wood piece is stilll there and darkening it can only help so much.

I would just have to be contented with the way it is now and bring the knowledge to my next set of photos:)
