Fantastic shots! I love the first one especially. If you don't mind my asking, how did you get the coloring that way? I love the fact that her eyes and lips are the first thing you notice but the rest of the pic still has color, just muted.

No problem:)

Basically all that i did was , I created a new layer and desaturated about 30points. Then I masked out her eyes and lips.. that is about it

wow thanks buster!! and everyone else that has given positive feedback

reewik.. although it seems that it was a lot of PP work on the image.. IMO the key to the "EYE" shots is quality of light.. If it wasn't there in the original shot you cant really accentuate it

Eyes are like mirrors, if they are looking into dark they will be dark.. 2 things i look for every time I do natural light portraits.

#1 Get the subject in a constant light, shade REALLY close to the edge of that shade or real close to a large object near by that will push some light in. IE wall etc.

#2 Make sure the subject is looking into a large constant light source.. ie sky etc..

one place i LOVE for bridal ports is at sliding glass doors. Pull them right up to the edge of the shadow and have them squat down.

I actually saw the light today...so to speak. My buddy and I were at lunch and I saw exactly what you are talking about in his eyes. Glad he is a friend cause that sounds weird.
