Hey all, ok i am new to wireless triggering and have been looking at some units online. My question is, what is the PC sync cable for? Do you HAVE to plug it into the transmitter? Or do I put the transmitter in the hotshoe and put the flash on the receiver with no cables used at all.? Sorry if this is a dumb question! Lol

It is either or. If your trigger has a hotshoe and the flash in mounted there, no cord is needed.

The PC sync cable is most usually for connecting a receiver to a flash unit without a hotshoe foot. Or the trigger may not have a hotshoe either (like the PocketWizard Plus III).

The cord can also be used to connect a transmitter to the cameras PC sync socket, leaving the hotshoe free for a flash etc.

I put a bit of a guide to the manual trigger options up here if that's any help - http://flashhavoc.com/which-radio-trigger/ (external link)
