so i've been tinkering around with lightroom now, and i've hit a roadblock. here's the situation.

normally i've just been importing to whatever dated folder was created upon my initial import. but now im looking to organize my files more, and this is where the problem is occurring.

so upon importing, i click on the pictures i want to keep, then click on copy, now is where it gets tricky...i clicked "into subfolder" and then created a subfolder name. now none of my pictures will import, and lightroom says "the file cannot be read". ive read that it's the read only permissions, but i can't imagine that its that much trouble for everyone using windows 7. so please give me some advise...maybe a step by step import procedure for creating a new folder and importing images into it. im about ready to pull my hair out. thanks.

Hey, nice that folks can troubleshoot their own problems, it saves us from scratching our heads to help to figure things out:)!

Biased but a great series of Lightroom training videos are streaming free at http://en.elephorm.com (external link)

A lot of discussion regarding the entire import process.
