I need some opinions from someone who has been at the same issue I am having.

I traded a Nikon D200 for a Canon camera this week. The guy tested the camera, everything worked just fine. Now, he is wanting to trade back because his wife isnt happy and says now there is a problem with the camera. Everything on the camera works fine and when he tested it out he had no issues. I think it comes down to the D200 doesnt have an auto feature. I told him that, he said he shot in program modes anyway.

A trade is a trade right? If he had any doubts, he should have said something before we made the deal. I didnt lie to him when we made the deal, but the angel on my shoulder says I should trade back, but if he do something to mess up the camera, I dont want to have a broken camera on my hands either. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks for the advice.

Will he tell you what is wrong with the camera? The vagueness strikes me as sketchy. Perhaps it is the lack of an auto feature, but you spoke about this up front, and it would have been one thing if he was honest and said we really can't handle a camera without auto, would you mind trading back. I'm a big believer in being upfront.

IMO if you went through the camera and everything was working perfectly when you made the trade, and he saw that, then any issues afterwards could have easily been his fault.

With Craigslist... all is final. You don't know if they did something to screw it up.

Final sale... you're not a retailer, no returns.

I'd take it back and wait for the next deal.

You made the trade. He accepted.

You have no other obligations. Period

All sales final, he checked it out and it was good at time of purchase, you have no responsibility afterwards..

I'd just tell him to re-list it on Craigslist if he isn't happy with it. His problem, not yours.

This - no buyers remorse returns on Craig.

Dude needs to turn around and sell it on CL

I've had this happen to me. People are just lazy and need to be reminded of the facts. If he was in your shoes he wouldn't want the camera back haha that's for sure

Something like "sorry bro there's just no way for me to know what happened with the camera after you walked out the door - I'm sure you will be able to turn it around on CL real quick."

As long as you have done something to do with CL and still you are alive, you should be happy.:)
