However I think its premature to dump your 35L for a S35 LOL!!!!! hehehehe!!!! This is of coarse if you have some issues with your 35L.

Well I've been closely following the S35 thread. If Invertalon and Ed Rader like theirs, I think I am pretty safe to say that I will as well ;)

So Invertalon's copy appears to be prone to a shift in focus due to artificial light. This convinces you to buy one ;)

ok then.........;)

Ed Rader just got his copy..........

Ok then........;)

I'm just pokin' fun. Jury's not out yet so please tell us your experiences based on the accuracy comparison to your current 35L. I just wont gamble just yet for paying clients. 35L is simply rock solid for me.

C'mon Alan, Steve determined that his issues were NOT a product of the lens. At least limit your Sigma bashing to your personal experiences or verified information.

C'mon :D;) I shoot events/receptions and my 35L never shifts on me regardless of lighting with or without flash. I guess its not prone to this artificial light weakness the Sigma has..... or his copy anyways.

In time AF complaints may or may not come out of the woodwork. I tragically ruined crucial photographs due to a sigmadud 50mm even after I tested it in a scientific way. Shot an event in a dynamic situation and had horrible results that were an embarrassment to present. Sig 85mm seems to have similar characteristics like the sigmadud 50mm.

I sound like a basher because I've tested enough of sigmas. A friend of mine quietly tells me his store gets alot of them back from primes to zooms. Bashing is if I wasn't telling the truth from all of my personal copies I've bought and tested. Non of my "L's" given me this type of grief. Please note I dont own a temper"mental" 50L.

On topic....100f/2 for 300bucks is a no brainer cheap alternative!

Good to know. Meeting the seller later today ;)

In terms of C35->S35, well I am not a pro, and i have heard too many good things about it from forum members here as well as multiple reviews from respectable photography sites. My curiousity is killing me and I have to try one myself :D

I think Sigma really has a winner with this lens.

Out of topic again; AlanU, My 135L shift focus dramatically from natural to artificial light while my Sigma 35mm dont. I would not have bought any other Sigma but the S35 is flawless so far for me. I just hope the next Art will be as good.

Why ask for lenses we already have?

I think it's because of the QC/AF issue on the 50...I know first hand ended up giving up and selling mine and bought the 85 instead...also the 50 shows more CA/PF and not as sharp as the new 35 wide open so there's definitely room for improvement with that lens

In saying that now that I have the 35 I don't think I miss having the 50...see myself quite happy with 35 + 85 + 70-200 2.8 II

Because since the Art lenses they have changed their quality control. Also they are pricing the lenses higher, thus the lenses are better quality. Dont expect anything under 800$ in the Art series except ef-s mount. (yes I believe there will be ef-s only Art lenses more moderatly priced)

I had a 85 f/1.8 and was shocked at the amount of CA/PF it had, wide or close to wide open, but it was a nice lens. I recently got the 100 f2, thinking it would be the same just a bit longer but its become my main lens. I feel its a better all round than the 85. I could have got the 135L but wanted something smaller and lighter, and im over the moon with it.
