I have wanted to get a shot of this pretty crested bird but they don't come up to the Phoenix area - happen to be in Tucson at the Desert Museum and they were several of them in the park - glad to get such a good shot with good light- hope you enjoy

Nifty shots, Marcy; we saw them when last in AZ, but got no photos.

Great stuff, Marcy, well done! It looks like a variant of a cardinal!

Don't you just love the Desert Museum? One of our favorite places when we lived in Tucson. Were these guys in the aviary or just hanging around? Great pictures.

I love AZ. Thankfully I live here.

Nice photos Marcy.
The desert cardinal Pyrrhuloxia is a great bird.
There are always a few at the AZDM.

I found a wild gray fox nest in a tree there a couple weeks back. I gotta get back out to see if its still there. I couldnt get a shot that day.
