The AB B400 and Genesis 200 are similarly priced. How do they stack up against one another? The B400 max power is 160 w/s whereas the Genesis 200 is 200w/s. Provided I work in a very limited space environment, power is not a factor.

I bought my first Genesis 200 a couple of years ago based on recommendations here at POTN. Now I have four of them but I am feeling limited because of the lack of accessories made specificially for the Genesis lights. Thinking about buying an AB light to use for gelling my muslin backgrounds.

And there are elinchrom adapter rings that will fit just about any modifier that takes an adpater ring.

Genesis lights have their limitations but if you are already invested in them don't add a light with a completely different modifier mounting system. That does complicate things.

Okay so will this Elinchrom accesory holder (external link) fit my light with the stock reflector? Or do I need to by the 8 1/4" elinchrom reflector as well? I want to be able to drop in these gels (external link) and ones that I make on my own.

If I need to get a reflector for the holder, is this (external link) the one? And which barndoors work with it? I only saw one barndoor kit (external link) for $159 which is more than I want to spend on it. All this adds up to a lot!

The Genesis Barndoor kit (external link) with gels and gel holder is only $30. However this one (external link) that is for the 8" reflector is $280 and includes no gels. Why the huge price difference?

The Elinchrom addessory holder will the 8.25" Genesis reflector. Whats wrong with the kit for $30 again? It seems to comes with everything you need....

For $30 it sounds like a cheaply build kit.
