Here is why you should not answer spam. I'm pretty sure that the first post was deleted, but look what remains:
Just a reminder. ;)

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."

Yep, just report it and move on. As a moderator on a few other sites its very frustrating cleaning up after spammers that members have responded too.

It's not particularly frustrating. If a spammer starts a thread, we delete the whole thread. If a spammer posts to an existing thread, we delete the post and any post that quotes the spam.

But yes, reporting spam is the best possible response and helps enormously in keeping the forum spam-free.

Unfortunately, the post to which he refers was orphaned went the spam post was moved to storage but not the response. Tactical error on our part.

It also happens when it is a spam post to a thread that gets moved and and response gets left behind and looks like the poster is talking to a ghost. In a way, I guess he is.

i have an issue with the reporting policy...

i work lots of hours during the overnight and every now and again, will come across multiple posts from the same persons with info for movies, or online prescriptions or the like...

if i have the time (often i do) i will start to flag these for the mods but after 2 or 3, im blocked from reporting any more...

i guess its to keep from reporting en masse but in these cases, its warranted...

We really need only one report for each spammer (member), as we always check and delete all other posts by that member, too. Thanks!

The time limit between reported posts is really annoying. Often times I run across spam from multiple accounts here and having to wait a couple minutes between reports is really inconvenient.

I throughly understand your frustration. It is part of the software that also slows down the spammers.
