He was doing some promotional stuff for this years Air Show Cozumel. I saw him at last years event & had hoped to attend again this year.

Sad. I wonder if a contributing factor was that he wasn't flying his own aircraft.

I've wondered the same thing. He may have expected a quicker reaction from the controls than he got. Hard to know and with it happening in Cozumel I doubt whether that kind of info will ever make it to our regular news sources.

I found another article on it & it says he was flying a Decathlon, which is much slower in the air & on the controls. The crash site photo also made me think of a Decathlon.
