My current camera has been an A710IS so needless to say it's a major upgrade and I'm a bit flumoxed. When I bought my oldie, there were plenty of aftermarket books and even a Blue Crane DVD, now all I've been able to find is the online and CD users manual and it's not as helpful as I'd like.

Does anyone know of some aftermarket books or DVD's for this camera?

Grats on the new camera. What type of information are you looking for that is not in the manual?

If youre looking for photography help, then check out some photography books for beginners such as "Understanding Exposure" from Bryan Peterson. Its one of the most popular photography books. Its made for DSLRs, but the concepts are the same.
All cameras behave in a similar way: ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture.
Once you know those, you can pick up any camera and use it.

First off, congratulations!
Advice? Take your camera with you everywhere, and shoot lots.
Look at other photographers images for inspiration. Like it? Ask yourself why.

There is a thread started by Gary here, for the 230. Check it out, post there, and ask for feedback.

Your camera has a long, long lens. That's good!

Have fun!

Dave

You can see posts with 220-260 cameras.
I regret I haven't had one yet. I have had the Pany equivalents.
