Looking for ideas to make a posing bench. Low enough to the ground for kids, but not too low that adults couldn't sit on it. Or maybe someone recently bought a cheap ottoman or something at a local dept store??

What about the basic bar stool with the hydraulic lift?

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

I need something wide enough for four people. I saw one in another POTN thread today that I liked but was probably expensive.

Are you looking for something finished, chushion top. Or would a basic wooden bench work and cover it with different clothes depending on shoot?

Thanks, I just checked Ikea and nothing like what Pjay used in his setup. I sent him a PM, hoping he checks POTN regularly.

Another thing, the wife and I were shopping for a new couch just before christmas, we hit some of the discount furniture places around town to see what they had. Couch set selection sucked but they did have a bunch of smaller items like that around for decent costs ($75-$100). Again not sure if your area has anything like those, but I decided when I needed some props I would be hitting those stores first.

You should check out Walmart. I have seen those types of benches/ottomans there before, for about $60-$80.

I'm gonna try my local Raymour and Flanagan (they have a discount clearance store near my house), then Target, and then eventually Walmart. Only problem with Walmart is you can't actually see it on their sales floor usually so its hit or miss. At least Target has a small display section for it.

Walmarts around my area are usually unorganized but if I remember correctly they always have the ottomans near the office furniture. I forgot to mention to also check out ROSS or Marshalls. They have ottomans there as well.

A few months ago I priced out what it would be to build my own bench like this for at the end of the bed. Granted my wife wanted it out of wood, stained with a cushion top, the cushion top was not the issue, the price of the lumber to build it was nuts. So if you can find one you like already made, its probably your best bet. And lift the lid and it can be used for storage too.
