I'll try to keep this short. I was approached by a local guy that is growing his printing business. A few weeks ago, an interior designer used me for some photos, and him as the printer. Now he's contacted me about the opportunity to possibly get a large job at a new hotel being built in the area. Nothing is final yet but he said it could very well be a large print in every hotel room.
I'm a hobbyist, and rarely get paid work so I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle this. I'm going to assume I want to keep the copyright. Do I sell a license to use for each print? I'm not sure if it will be 5 different photos, or 50. Do I ask for a flat rate? Do I ask for a percentage of net/gross profit from the deal? If so, what percentage is fair? I will be shooting what he/they want, and editing. He will be doing all of the rest; printing, stretching canvas on frame etc.
