The line 'the high road, the low road' comes to mind ... :-)

Nice shot Marie. I like the angle of the shot and the brightness of the sunlit grass in contrast to the shadow throughout the picture. Was there a ray of light coming through the clouds?

No room for ambivalence there, right?

Nice shot, Marie! I'd take the low road. It looks like there are curves ahead! ;)

Lovely picture. Great palette of colors - leads me up the road to the cottage.

Nice photo, and I found it interesting how reading your post title first meant that I appreciated the photo for what you intended rather than where the central feature was the tree.

Did you use a fill-flash or adjust the levels for the tree? I might have left it a bit darker so that the viewer is drawn less by the tree than by the colours of the field leading up to the cottage.

Hi Marie

Although i like your picture and i would prefer the road to the cottage (warm fire/stiff drink and so on :) ) IMO i would have a bit less sky and more bottom of tree in it.

But , that is just me expressing my opp.

Keep up the good work.;)

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
"Robert Frost, the road not taken"

Beautiful shot Marie; I think I too would have taken the one to the cottage. :D :D

thanks very much Randy
I loved that also
I don't think there much sunlight coming through at all at that point
but there was a glow coming from the field, like as though rape seed was growing
I think it is much too early for that though

thank you John
I took two shots at this angle. one with, and one without flash
I liked the wild look of the tree dividing the paths like it
with the tawny rustic winter growth at the tree's base among those rocks

thanks Frank,
so it's the low road for you
but at least you know you won't get a door shut in your face,
some of us might , if we went up there (to the cottage) for a nice warm drink
