What do people think about it? I had a good play around with it today and think it's fantastic. Great for reviewing photos and really handy for uploading images to Facebook. I think I'll be throwing the iPad in the bag everytime I go out shooting now.

Too bad it is only compatible with the 6D. Maybe Canon will release an updated BG-E7 that adds Wi-Fi capability to the 7D? :wishfulthinking:

They will do - sort of. It'll be called the 7D MkII.

I've been thinking that a 7D with merely WiFi added comes pretty close to being a 7D MkII.

Although this functionality would be very nice to have, I couldn't see myself wanting or needing to upgrade if the only hardware option for the iOS App is an iPhone. Screen is just too small.

Have you used it on iPad? Just hit 2x and it fills the screen. The resolution is fine.

Even though the images are only 1920x1080?

For optimal quality and speed of transmission, images transferred from camera to smartphone are converted from RAW or large JPEG to S2 JPEG size (1920x1280)." - Source (external link)

You speak as if the 2x button also improves the visual acuity of iPhone apps that are used on a iPad. I have yet to find an app where this is the case. They all look like crap in 2x mode.

And this app is no different.

Use the app to move the photos to your device. Then look at them. I also don't have an issue with the 2x obviously it would be good if it was native iPad but its nothing worth crying over. I have latest gen iPad with retina so maybe that helps as well.
