Hey guys! I was wondering if there is a way for me to change the icon next to my website's page title. PotN has a camera as an icon. Facebook has the "f" inside a square. My website has a piece of paper with the corner bent. Can I change that?

Your help is appreciated! :D

If my file's a JPG, do I need to change it to type="image/jpg"?

Hmm, I converted my jpg to a gif and used the coding, but it didn't seem to work. I'll keep playing with it.

I always thought it had to be a '.ico' file. I also thought it had to be called 'favicon.ico' too. I have a plugin (Photoshop) to convert JPG/GIF etc to ICO. If your still stuck, I can convert it for you.

But the coding that melanopsin posted uses a GIF file. How would I incorporate an ico file?

A quick google shows that I can use something like this:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" />

Maybe it's as simple as that. Mike, can I send you a JPG to be converted to ICO?

I don't see it using XP and Chrome. :(

EDIT: It took 4 tries to refresh, but I can see it now.

But one thing I noticed is that my logo still has the white background. I'm not sure how to make that transparent like every other logo I see. any ideas?
