Living in Nova Scotia, Canada, it was one hell of a long haul to get to Australia. However, it was well worth the flight. What an incredible part of the world! Spending most of our time in and around Melbourne, we took part in a lot of outdoor, water-based activities where I simply couldn't keep the camera in a safe spot, so it stayed at home. However, we had a number of amazing sunset walks along the Port Melbourne waterfront.
Port Melbourne Harbourfront
After leaving Melbourne, we spent four days in Sydney. While in Sydney, we stayed in a hostel in The Rocks and had an amazing view of Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.

Opera Afterdark
I know this is an overly common / typical shot of the opera house, so I wanted to get closer and see how the building is actually constructed. We attended a show at the Opera House on our first night, so I really got up close and personal with the building.

The Sydney Opera House
Also, while in Sydney, we did quite a bit of exploring around the various neighbourhoods. Darling Harbour was an interesting area with a lot of attractions. I didn't stop long enough to really investigate what this giant rubber duck was all about, but interesting nonetheless.

Big Bath, Big Duck
Our last adventure in Sydney was with food. We found an amazing Thai restaurant; Home Thai. This restaurant was little more than a hole in the wall, but managed to cram dozens of tables in on top of one another. The kitchen was incredibly small, but the efficiency was very impressive. Arriving at #94 on the wait list, we were seated within 20 minutes.
