Took a brave step today and decided to work with higher ISO's on the 7D - it paid off. I would normally stick around 100 to 200 or occasionally 400 as I know I will be cropping the images. Today I started at 400 and crept up to 800. This allowed me to shoot at around f7.1-8 for a much better result at 400mm. Occasional flash at -3 FEC helped a little.

A really pleasant 3½ hour mornings walk round the reserve.
