If you had no system already established, and you shot 90% landscape/seascape and 10% BMX (bicycle) racing, what would you choose:

Nikon d600 w/24-85
Canon 6D w/24/105
Canon 60D w/ Sigma 17-50 & 70-200 F4 IS

I was looking at spending about $2400-$2500. I know I can find the D600 setup for under $2k, the 6D new at $2.4k, and I can get the 60D set up for $2.1k or maybe a little less. I have never shot with any Nikon system. I have had the original digital reble, XSI, 50D, and 60D. I liked the 60D best. Again I have no equipment at all so I am not tied to any existing lenses.

I would say go with the 6D+24-105.
Has a very similar button layout to the 60D, so you should be used to it. And the only reason you might want a crop is if you shoot a lot of wildlife/sports.

I'd choose the same setup that I already have. A lightly used 7D with the 2 short Sigmas new and get the 70-200 used as well.

A "do anything" setup on your budget that you can then upgrade to "L" glass if and when the Sigmas start holding you back (which I doubt they will).

I don't have any experience with the 6D. I heard it's a good camera.

I have the same setup as your 60D setup and I love it. I have a Tamron non-VC instead of the sigma though. I don't really like sigmas because I used to have a Sigma 18-50 EX DC macro 2.8 and it had trouble with front focusing. I sent my camera/lens to sigma and they didn't seem to even have touched it. But they said "repaired". So I will probably never buy another sigma,

Camera: Canon 30d + 60d
Lens: Canon 50mm f1.8II, Canon 70-200mm f4L IS, Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 non-VC
Accessories: Gitzo 1550T with original ball-head
