Possible the sigma 150-600 sport depending on how it compares to the 100-400L in IQ and autofocus speed and consistentcy.

Either the Tamron 150-600 or the Sigma 150-600C whenever it comes out.

I currently only own primes, but like the idea of owning a 24-70 2.8 II, and 70-200 2.8 II but we'll see what happens. I'm renting one of those in the coming weeks.

Wow Charlie, thats quite a change up.

I figure rather than debate what to use, just own everything I like

they're all FDn manual lenses :p I've been really getting into this sony system, and I'm happy with the performance of the FD lenses on Sony. Optics are all good to great, and the size is very nice. The lenses are significantly smaller all around, and as crazy as it sounds, I think the optical formula is the same too, with the exception of the 135F2 vs 135F2L.

Sure, I gave up autofocus, but it was totally worth it since sony's focus peaking has been so good to me, my keeper rate is nearly on par as my 6D's keeper rate, of course, my MF ability is no match for AI Servo, which is why I still keep the 6D around.

I didn't realize you are going to FD manual lenses. I would imagine much cheaper than the L's.

I may finally get a 24-70 II this year or I may get an 100s or one of the Fuji bodies with a 23 prime for casual use. Leaning toward the 24-70 since I'm not sure about moving to another system.

I owned both EF 50L + EF 135L and FDn 50f1.4 + FDn 135f2.8 at the same time, just to put the price aside and purely on optics. I took few thousand photos of the same stuff, but once with the EF combo, then another day with the FD combo. DOF differences were a tad different, but visible. Crazy as it sounds, sharpness issue, was no different. 70 and 80 dollar FD equivalents were on par, but even more important than sharpness was contrast and color.

50 definitely on par, but 135, a tad less contrast than the legend L equivalent, but still very good. So after the exercise, I decided to sell off the EF versions go after the FDn 50L and 135F2 instead. Well after I sold off the EF version, I had enough to get the FDn 50L, 135F2, AND 85L. Bought 24/28/35 because I got them for a super deal.

on the Autofocus canon side, I traded in the tamron 24-70F2.8, 70-200F2.8, 150-600 for a more compact setup. I would bring these for landscape outings, and it was just too much weight. So I did a pretty big flip, went back to the 24-105 and 70-200F2.8ii + 1.4xiii + 2xiii. It's still a big setup for landscapes, but it's consideraby smaller than the tamron setup.

so now, my canon EF is limited to two zooms, and my sony setup is all primes. Pretty happy about the setup, have went to the amusement park with my sony setup, which I would have never considered when with my canon kit. I literally carry a fanny pack with 2 small primes.... fantastic.

Plan on selling my 20-35L and 80-200L and replacing them with a 24L and 135L. The 80-200 just never gets used due to its size!

That 11-24 f/4L if true would be my next lens.
