As many on here may know, I currently am lucky enough to work for both of my dream companies at the same time...Serving as the Director of Digital Media for National Geographic Television/Magazine on special projects and as the Director of Photography for NBC News/Sports as my primary day to day duties.
Recently I wanted to get into lighting myself so that I could hit some location shoots without bringing all of the lighting guys along.
I contacted Mola and they were nice enough to give me a Demi to add to my new lighting gear, thinking it would would well on location.
I was having trouble getting the factory modeling lamps to fit in the dish without hitting the diffuser.
Since I ordered a plate from Jerry Kacey for the AlienBee lights I decided use so I sent an email to him Friday night asking if he could do something to help me out.
This whole post is pretty much about how VERY IMPRESSED I was with Jerry. He called my private cell within a hour of my sending an email to his company. I explained my problem and he is at the moment manufacturing something that will solve my problem and will be getting that out to me.
Jerry even offered to send me one of HIS dishes. I only wish I had done my own research before I asked MOLA to give me one of their products (our in house studio lighting guys use their brand so I hit them up and they wanted to give one to me if I would endorse the product if I loved it).
After Jerry directed me to his products page and after we spoke about my shooting a LOT of locations in Africa and war zones; we both knew that his design would be lighter, more durable and safer for the lighting I would be using under some of the toughest conditions possible.
Needless to say once I see how the MOLA lighting effects work with my photography I can pretty much say that I will be dying to get my hands on the KACEY Beauty Dish and put it through its paces. I just know that this is the one that will end up being the all around winner.
I also wanted to publicly thank Jerry Kacey of Kacey Enterprises because he was so FAST and so WILLING to manufacture something special to help me out on a dish that is not one of his.
Jerry is dedicated and truly knows what he is talking about. He had an immediate grasp on my situation and came up with an immediate fix and dropped everything to get me up and running and in my business time is everything.
I love the members of this board and the FM Board. I have talked to many of you, bought things from many of you and know that you are a close knit group of brothers and a trusted group of photographers.
I know that YOU, just as I, always want to hear about good experiences because it helps you make your choices when you need to go to someone for help or when you are about to spend your hard earned money and want/need a superior product.
I cannot endorse of recommend Kacey Enterprises highly enough and especially Jerry Kacey. I wish I could rave about the Beauty Dish he is manufacturing but until I actually out one through the ringer I will have to wait on the endorsement.
I urge ALL of you to check out Kacey Enterprises and all of the fine items they made with the pros upper most in mind.
Thanks Jerry for everything

Bob

I am a huge advocate of customer service and probably write as many letters complimenting it as I do complaining about it. It is always nice to hear success stories such as these. I do however agree with the above quote. Lots of time its who you know and the position you hold in an organization dictates how you are treated by others. I can attest to this in a different industry.

My life is like one big RAW file....way too much post processing needed.

What's cool is when people treat you good because, well just because!

But I don't want to dis the OP -- it sounds like he has earned respect and has a story to tell that is positive!
