Does anyone here own both?.. or do you guys think they are very similar (in terms of use)?
Looking forward to hearing different opinions and arguments for and against why someone would/wouldnt own both of them.

SMP_Homer Cream of the Crop More info | Jan 20, 2013 08:10 | #3 I've owned every 50mm lens Canon makes (the 1.4 more than twice too), and the better sigma as well... And I usually end up selling it because between 35 and 85, I can't make use of it... It's in my bag now, because the 2nd shooter I use a lot once said he wouldn't mind having access to something like that at some weddings... EOS R6’ / 1D X / 1D IV (and the wife has a T4i)

Jan 20, 2013 08:29 | #4 From 35mm to 50mm, magnification increases by a factor of about 1.4. From 50mm to 85mm, the increase is 1.7. So in terms of angle of view, the 50L and 85L are far enough apart for me, whereas the 35L and 50L are not.

Im seriously considering an 85 now to compliment my 50 and 135 It happens. The feeling is probably also only on your end of the shoot SOSKIphoto
