There is no doubt photographers like to travel to photograph things. It is also no doubt that camera gear and hotels/travel is expensive.

I think we should have a couch surfing section where those looking for a couch to stay on for a night or two and those with an available couch can meet up.

For example I would post saying "I will be in dublin for a week and I am looking for a couch to crash on. I don't smoke and I am will to help with a chore or two to pay for my stay."

I think it would be a great way to get the photography community together and people could very easily learn a lot form the people they stay with. I feel there is a somewhat close community here so it would hopefully be a bit safer than craigslist.

There could also be a feedback/thank you thread so people know who the good people are.

Member activities forum could be used for that. (no new forums will be created until sometime after the new forum software has been implemented but suggestion is noted.)

Yes but I was hoping it would be easier and create more of a community feel amongst the forum members. I think it would help grow the hobby and teach new techniques - even to veteran photographers.

Yeah that may be an issue but hopefully you just don't leave things laying around unprotected.
