I was really wishing I had a wider lens this morning, but I like the picture anyhow! CC always welcome

It's a great composition with depth and atmosphere.
For general shooting you do need somthing wider than 50mm though!

Thank you! As for the wider lens I'm saving! Right after taxes hopefully I will be able to get the 24L.. do you think that would be good enough? With the 20d it becomes more like a 35 I think? Thanks for the comments

Why a prime? There are a lot of very good wide to normal zooms. The 17-40L and 24-70L get rave reviews in these forums. Even my humble EF-S 10-22 and EF-S 17-85 give good results. I love wide angle shots - the 10-22 on my 1.6 crop 350D is equivalent to 16-35 on 35mm format. I think the conversion factor for the 20D is 1.4 but don't quote me!

I would really like the 17-40L but I do wish it were faster. There have been way too many times when I have lost oportunities for pictures because I just didn't have the speed. The 1.4 is pretty much the reason I want the 24mm prime. Not having zoom causes lost chances too though:(. I just wish they would come out with a 17-40 1.4! Although I would probably have to get a gym membership to keep in shape for carrying it:)
