Ice Moon

Shot this ice ring around the moon tonight. T1I with a Canon 15-85. This is a 30 second exposure SOOC. Tried manual and auto focus, but could never really get the moon in focus. Any suggestions?

Nice shot, the moon is way too over exposed for you to tell if it's 100% in focus, but I'm not sure what this photo would look like if you exposed the moon "properly." I say well done, and you caught the ring nicely.

Thanks, the over exposure might be it! Anything below 15 sec exposure and the ring disappeared.

Exactly, you'll lose the ring if just the moon is exposed "properly." But for the moon-ring shot your exposure is perfect. I suggest a longer lens for moon-only shots :p
