Weird. So I shot it with my 5D Mark III and 100-400F4.5L but no extender and it's close to that. I figured that the extender would give better magnification?

Mine is 100% crop. So when I compare your full-size image, I see the difference. I'm impressed with the sharpness with the 2x extender...
