After seeing tons of Bald Eagles around while working but never having my camera, was finally able to get some halfway decent shots. Barred Owl was a pleasant surprise. These photos from Croton Point Park in NY.

Interrupting a mid-morning nap...

Finally, this Bald Eagle stayed put long enough for me to get close enough for a photo...

Photo shoot over, just before take off...

Not the best photos, that branch in the the eagle's face is distracting and the Barred Owl wasn't very cooperative hiding in a tree. But not too bad for only 2 hours in the park. Can't wait to get better shots next time. Just happy to have these.

Funny how they almost always put a branch or stick or something in the way, gotta love it.
Your shots turned out well, the Owl is bit soft but the Eagles turned out good, especially with that sky, hope to see more!

WTG, great spotting on the owl, and those baldies have some really good detail (nice and sharp).

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

These are nice images! Having shot about 100K bird images myself, I still don't have any good bald eagle shots...

Good job on the eagles especially, it looks like you were quite close.

Really nice and congrats! Cloning out those branches is so tempting, but its really tough specially if it goes over the feathers.
