Very nice!

Did the Brits put names on the front far more than the US? I don't have much recollection of US engines with front "name" plates, just numbers. Are all the old British Steam named?

Some locos were named back in steam days and a few had what is called headboards, for premier routes like the Brighton Belle, The Royal Scot, The Flying Scotsman (which is also the name of a loco as well) the headboard being attached to the loco rostered for the run which could have been something else. Probably one of the most famous named locos is 'Mallard' a Gresley A4 Pacific, the other is in the class also had bird names, Kingfisher, Bittern (still running).

The GWR also named a lot of it's locos the Hall class, Manors, Castles, Kings. Actual trains may have carried headboards for example Cornish Riviera Express which could have been pulled by a Castle or King class

I've been wanting to get to this small railroad near my parents' house for quite some time. Finally got there over the Christmas holiday. I was like a kid in a candy store.
