Got printer or you thought so...
Do you still remember that dot printer or has had any chance to work with one? Kind of printers that looked like align sent tool. A miracle of engineering for its time. Printers that send type writers permanently into RIP.
Seems new generation of printers are one the way, popping out in every corner to change life like it was never expected.

This one is still a concept but not hard to imaging that either next iPrinter or app is going to bring it to your home: Canon ARE YOU LISTENING?

This is already made and not a concept. In fact you can buy some of these right now:

A guy having hand on one of these 3D printers is planning to design and built his real home via printer...

Heh! I used the old dot matrix printers, not just at work, but I had one at home and had fun actually printing digital photos with it!

'Course that was 20 years ago. I went to work in HP, in the inkjet printing division, in the early days of the "Inkjet Revolution", back in '92. They had just came out with the first inkjet printer that could print a full 3-color photo print without having to change cartridges from black to tri-color, quite an achievement! The retailed for $1100 back then, people began gobbling them up, and HP earned its profits with a US/domestic workforce!

Since then, I ended up with two good photo-dedicated printers and have gotten good use out of them...

But, back when I was still at HP they'd have cool "presentations" where the guys from the lab down in Palo Alto would bring the latest "stuff" they were working on. This would have been, gosh, maybe 7 years ago, and among the "toys" they demo'd was 3-D printing, pretty cool. I haven't seen them out and about, but I can imagine there are some "corners" where folks are getting stuff done!

Thank Tony not fearing to admit about age thingy!
I thought I am the only one:)

I still have some of those continues papers rolls, designed for dot printer somewhere in garage! Do you remember how hard was to print say an essay when number of pages where several. Mine would go out of page set up after 4 or 5th page with some pages falling right in middle of cutting line!!! Never learned how to fix this miscalculated page as opposed to printers crazy default setting. Instead I would print max of 2 or 3 page at a time.

Now you can design and build your own home on printer!!!
I am sure we are going to see very interesting design of DSLRs if this become routine.
I guess my son needs to make some car body kit on the 3D printer too.
Can't wait to take one home.
