Is there an external mike, such as a Rode shotgun type that I can use for my 7D/5D3 and my Canon HF M500, without the need for 2 different mikes?

I may be moving to a video cam such as the Vixia HF G20.
I am looking for better sound than what the onboard mikes produce.
Thanks

just a few of my thoughts...
Pierre

Sure. Any of them as long as the camcorders have mic inputs and there is an adapter if necessary to allow the mics to plug into it.

Thanks for the quick response. I am pretty new to video, and I am hooked.
