1st HKY-M Post this year. Ambient. The rink glass is pretty beat up. These are for one of our local high school's; Yearbook, Web Page, In-School Daily Slideshow, Post-Season Slideshow (upon request), Visitor School's Parents/Players/Families and, at times, posted online for purchase. C & C encouraged, as always.

8) Goalie - pre-game, waiting for the girls' game to finish. GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS. GOOD NEWS - Last year, lead the state (WI) in saves. BAD NEWS - Last year's record..... 0 - 23. (Skin tone? Not sure how to fix it? I like the look on player's face [and posture/pose].)

Chico, these are very well done. Watch your horizon in #5. 3,6, and 7 are great action. Where the heck was the keeper going on #5? Looks like he made a lucky save!

Scott, I appreciate the feedback. "Leveling horizons" is always one of my concerns. The ice rink lends itself to some intriguing "leveling." I almost always use "vertical indicators" in pp'ing. In this rink, the vertical lines vary; the seam in the boards vs the net posts vs the brackets that hold the glass. Glad that caught your eye, because I tried leveling using the "indicators" I just mentioned, and no matter what I leveled with, something else would make the photo look a bit off. So I compromised a bit. Any thoughts on that? Yeah, in #5, the goalie, I'm not sure exactly what happened, but there is a huge gap and a lot of net exposed there. I suspect that this was off a blocked shot with his momentum taking him to his right. Just a guess. (Thus I may have missed the "peak action.") Thank you, as always for the comments.

JT, Thank you. I used a 1DMk3 w300mm f/2.8L IS II USM, and another 1DMk3 w/16-35mm f/2.8L II USM.

these look really good...

i try to use the top rail of the dashers for my level reference BECAUSE the glass uprights can lean one way or another. or the goal since 2" pipe rarely will lean...

my guess is the goalie just blocked a shot from his right face off circle and thats a rebound he gave up. should have had a defence man there...

-im just trying. sometimes i succeed

Thanks, "Ltdave." I'll consider your advice on "leveling." Appreciate it.
