Hi Modigity - thanks for the reference.

Yes, Atlex is a pretty good place. I've been getting my R1800 ink and paper from them for years. Shipments have been quite fast. Until 1/31/13 Epson has the $250 rebate going on, and the Atlex discounted price is about $160 less than my local vendor. Of course that does not include shipping which could easily be a good chunk.

I prefer buying local whenever possible; I'll have to visit the local guy and see if they do any price matching.

I prefer to buy local as well and my guy can usually match so hopefully yours can to. They were offering free shipping last I checked. But if you can get close locally that's the route I would go.

Totally agree.

I just got off the phone with the local Dodd Camera - have worked with the salesman for many years. Their price is actually a little bit higher but to me it's worth it for the professional service level I receive each time I visit.

Unfortunately they are out right now, but he will find me one tomorrow. In the meantime I can still make the purchase prior to this Thursday when the rebate expires, and get $250 back from Canon.;) - Stu

Be careful with the rebate a lot of times Epson has clauses that product must be in stock with reseller at time of purchase.

That's an excellent point. I checked the rebate form and here is part of the verbiage:

".....To receive the rebate, you must purchase the printer before the end of the promotional period from an Epson reseller who has the printer in stock. Printers are sometimes in very short supply, so please check with your reseller before you order to ensure it is available before the end of the promotion. If you place an order and the printer is not in stock by the end of the promotion, your dealer will allow you to cancel the order. If stock is expected at a later date, and there is a new rebate offer at that time, your dealer will assist you in reordering using the new rebate."....

I think I'll give local a call and see what he recommends. Thanks!
