Hi Everyone,
So I'm new to the forum (as I'm sure you can tell by my lack of posts). I recently purchased my first digital SLR - a Canon T3i, and I'm now looking to expand my lens selection. Right now I have the EF-S 18-55mm that came with the camera, and an EF-S 55-250mm. I'm mainly interested in doing landscapes / nature photography, but I'm also hoping to do some traveling in the near future so something portable would be nice for that (for the typical touristy, walking around town photography).
I've been doing some research on the subject of lenses, but it would be nice to hear a few opinions. My budget is in the <$600 range right now and I've been looking at the following lenses:
1. Canon EF-S 10-22mm - It's a bit pricey new, but I've seen some used for around $500. It seems like 18mm just isn't that wide on a crop body and it would be nice to have something wider for landscapes. I wish there was a non-fish eye ultra-wide prime for canon, but I haven't seen anything in my price range.
2. Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM - What really attracts me to this one is the size. It seems like it would be really good for travel. I've also been looking at the Canon 50mm f/1.8.
I'd appreciate any suggestions!
